Did a sort of IPA, well, my idea of an IPA is as many hops as I can lay my mits on at the time.

Anyway, here's the recipe -

24litres after topping up

4kg MO
250g Amber Malt - home made, mind
250g Torrified Wheat
25g Flaked Barley - thought I'd use the last of a pack I had

42.5g EKG - 5.3AA - 90 mins boil - 23.9 ibu
25g Fuggles - 4.5AA - 90 mins boil - 11.9 ibu
75g BC - 5.9AA - 30 mins steep

1/2 tsp Irish moss @ 10 mins
S04 yeast

Should end up around the 5% abv mark and flavours should calm down a bit by the time it's started which will be the end of June.

Had a bit of trouble with a tap (again) this time on my FV (which doubles a s a boiler for my sparge water). The bugger kept leaking so I grabbed a barrel tap and used that instead, worked fine after that.

Everything else went smooth as a peach.

Yeah, that's the last brew for a bit now as the wife is getting upset with me hogging the kitchen every day :)

I've got two I'm supping and two in the FV, the Petrol Head has a nice krausen on the go now so another nine days and it's into secondary for maturing then the fridge to lager.

God I hope we have a good summer. 8)

Actually, due to the glory that is Freecycle I'll be picking up three more barrels, three FV's, 5 DJ's, a corker, a capper, plus other misc. objects and all for free.

Get in.
