just got back from my local micro battledown brewery in cheltenham, lovely bloke who gave me some of his yeast and a good look round. so its a brew tonight with my jam jar of fizzing gold, its supposed to be a nottingham strain so I will be interested to see how much of a difference it makes as I usualy use gervin. Ive got a polypin of his beer to lubricate the process as well.

yes I know Im interested to see if this tastes much different though

I reckon if he has reused the yeast it will be different, it will have taken on some of his house style that will be transfered to your beer

Could be totally wrong though

he took it directly from the bottom of his fermenter so its already been working, so you might be right. I just assumed that a live yeast from a micro would be more complex or have more strains or whatever

my wife is not amused at enduring the second brew this week

well she has got one on order for july apparently

merely making a deposit in july , I expect a return in spring next year

trust me Ive been saving up for quite some time
