First AG brew

Hi everyone.

Last monday bank holiday I made my first AG brew. (The missus was away and I was
meant to be painting the kitchen ;-)

I'm afraid I can't share the recipe (tbh, I don't know all of it myself - it belongs to a local microbrewery and they just weighed the ingredients for me). It's a nice hoppy IPA.

Pictures are at photos.mesb.co.uk

O.G was 1.040. Looks like it's stopped at 1.008 and looks good so far.

Heh. Pene was also the local HBS before time constraints enforced its closure - although we can still get bits through her. She also produces some lovely beer.

I just went for the way I'd been shown. Didn't have any problems, but I will however, bear your advice in mind. I think I prefer the sound of that actually.

Thanks.
Welcome to the dark side :=P
Wearing lots of black and having long hair, people would say that I'm already there. Good thing I know what you mean - although I do prefer the lighter beers. :D

Ok, update.

I tried the beer after about 3.5 weeks and it was probably the worst stuff I'd ever tasted in my life.

Took a bottle to my local micro yesturday (5 weeks) so that she could tell me what went wrong with it and... it tasted bloody perfect.

It was a very hoppy brew, so I guess it just needed longer than normal.

Next brew coming up. Just got to make an IC when the boss isn't looking
