this is an hour into the mash
23L
OG 1040
4000g Maris Otter
250g Crystal
250g Wheat
60 min boil
50g of challenger in at the start, going to try first wort hopping
as there'll be 20g of challengers left in the pack i'm then going to try one of these 80C steeps mid-cooling.
WLP013 yeast.
after trying challengers for the first time in a summer ale, they're my new favourite hop.

Looks a cracker MB.
100% challenger beers tick so many boxes.
So will there be any left to bring to a LAB meet, in a couple of months???

got 22L @ 1040 which once i've put back the 1L i took for the yeast starter should see me bang on

the IC wasn't doing much once it got to 35C so i ran off and stuck the FV in the spare room with the window open (and a lid on) to drop that last few degrees before i pitch.
hitting my targets for the first time in a few brews means that there should be enough for me to fill a cornie and still have enough for a couple of bottles to take to LAB too
hope the mild went well wez, i'm having a pint of my mild now as my reward.
