It's a beautiful sunny day and I'm out there pulling weeds and tending to the plants (including the Hop plants) But while I'm doing this ..In the brewery the HLT is heating up nicely. I have some yeast to use up and I have some Hops to use up.....Yep I'm multitasking...It's a recipe for disaster. I'm brewing this.

You certainly have been busy recently judging by your number of recent brewday posts!

Good luck with your brew & I am pleased that your version of my house bitter was to your taste. 8)

Your house brew is good..in fact I reneged on my intention to reduce the bitterness and used the original recipe. Also I have now grown to like my Fuggles hopped version as well..so might even do another one of those

Well...not perfect Vossy1....I cleaned those damned kettle elements but this time they've both tripped out...I couldn't be 4rsed to transfer all that boiling wort to another boiler...so I've disconnected the air supply from my Flojet pump and its squirting directly on one of the element sockets....It's keeping it going...but bloody hell that compressor's noisy...Not quite the peaceful and laid back brew I envisaged at the start of the day..Oh and I've abandoned the gardening

Finally got there 20litres at 1050. I extended the boil from 60 to 90mins to take account of buggering about with the kettle elements...Yet again the wort was perfectly clear

All cornies now spoken for...So I can spend a bit of time looking at my equipment  (If you'll pardon the expression)

The problems with attaining the strike temp during the Black Sheep brew was due to the fact the pipe from my HLT to the mash tun was full of cold water

Not sure about the kettle elements though, I fixed this problem on my 70l copper by removing the cut-out.. 8-[ So will probably do the same with my 40L copper also.

Thinking of adding the option of HERMS too.

That should keep me away from brewing for a week or two.
