aka Townes IPA

Day off work and even though its not at all brewing weather I'm going to try and see if I can pull this one off despite the heat. Got a bag of Cascade that's 'on the turn' so thought I'd give this recipe a try as it seems to have been popular on the forum of late 8)

for 23l
4800g Maris Otter Pale Malt
200g Wheat Malt

80g Cascade 60mins
20g Cascade 15mins
25g Cascade steep at 80°c

S-04 and lots of wet towels around the fermenter to keep it cool enough. Fingers crossed...

Good luck - seems the hot weather isn't going to last more than another couple of days so should be OK

Its been so long since I brewed in hot weather I'd forgotten how long it takes to chill the wort down. Those last 10°c take forever.

So far a good brewday, no foul-ups (shhh!) and its all smelling wonderful. Flying starter is looking healthy so I should be pitching in about half an hour 8)

Agree with all those who've done this before - its a great, hoppy, tasty beer, definitely recommended. My only problem is I've got the lurgy so I can't drink it now its come into form

Thanks for the bottle, drinking now and it's really great. Massive aroma and flavour. Gonna do something like this after my current brews. Well done chap 8)
