Beevis and Hophead

I had some bits kicking round my brew shelf so i decided to do a little experimenting with a Geordie Scottish Export Kit which followed the plan below:-
Boiled 5 ltrs water and steeped 300grms crushed crystal malt in gauze bag for 30 mins
Removed gauze bag and added the can of Geordie export
After 15 minutes added 50 grms of northdown brewer pellets
After 20 minutes more i added 100 grms of whole leaf goldings and 425grms of pasteurised honey and a teaspoon of irish moss
after a further 15 minutes i added 1kilo of brewing sugar and the last hop addition 50 grms of challenger pellets, boiled for 10 more minutes and switched off the heat
once cooled to 60degrees i added a further 425 grms of pastuerised honey
Cooled pot in sink with ice water
transferred to FV and topped up to 5gallon with water treated with a 1/2 campden tablet
when cooled to 25 degrees added pre prepared yeast starter
put under stairs to await results

I wish id taken some pictures now because this went better than i expected, i'll get some pictures tommorow of the FV and hopefully a healthy Krausen :D
OG of 1040 which to be fair is roughly what i figured as a guestimate and the sample i took for the reading tasted really lovely and honeyed with a nice hoppy taste, admittedly it had a bitter afterkick but it was still warm

Down to 1010 in 3 days, any idea if this is normal for a geordie kit as there is still a substantial Krausen on top
