Caxton kit

Post by Gruesome » Wed Jun 25, 2008 7:11 am

Hello again folks. Just updating on my basic Caxton Real Ale kit. The first pint was drawn off last Thursday. Very hoppy and quite clear, pleasant to drink but not very strong. This week, it's very clear, slightly less hoppy (but that could be because I'm now used to it), definately low in alcohol content but a lovely summer drink which won't knock you sideways. I like this one and for a basic, cheap end of the market kit, it's great. I just need to decide which one to do next. I'm looking at something slightly more expensive like a 2 pack kit.

Ahhh, that'd explain why the manufacturers gave the option of either 36 or 40 pints. They didn't say why! I'll go for the lower option next time to increase the alcohol content. I must say, this current brew is crystal clear. I'll get another kit ordered tomorrow and start it as soon as it comes as I'm getting near the bottom of the barrel now. Thanks for your help.
