If the rain clears tomorrow night:
Another one for the Wiggly One (aka Mrs Munky), Hop Back Summer Lightning clone, Less bitter & Lower ABV:
Wiggly Lightning:-
Batch = 44L
IBU = 30
OG = 1040ish
FG = 1011ish
Mash = 90mins
Boil = 90mins
Ingredients:
8.50 kg Marris otter
75.00 gm Challenger [7.00 %] (90 min) Hops 29.9 IBU
50.00 gm Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] Steep 80c 30 mins
1x whirfloc (15 min)
2x pkt S-04
What do you think? Should I go 2x whirfloc?
This will be my first spinny sparge, I am still using the H&G 28L mash tun as my nordic hasn't arrived yet.
All the best,
John

Nah, 1's more than enough

There's nothing quite like the squeak of a spinny in action

Woo! I have just had clearance to brew indoors if need be! SWMBO has a cold and can't smell anything ATM, plus the brew is for her (yer right) anyhew.

Ho boy!
Mash, then a further 4 batch sparges in my 28L tun
just over 55L in the boiler @ 1041 preboil so efficiency has gone nuts again, maybe because I used ph 5.2 stabliser this time round.
Just prevented a boil over. now rolling nicely.
Gonna be yet another late one

No chance of a lie in, 11 month old daugther will want feeding @ 6:30am, then it's off to the childminder, chemist to get cold remedies for SWMBO, then to work and a day full of senior manglement meetings as my boss is off and I'm deputy dawg
