water done
Mash in
No pics

Why?

I'm using my new Nordic tun and I'm scared my placcy plate fb will go horribly wrong!

Fingers crossed, more later.

All the best

I'm hoping the weight of the grain will push it down as it tends to tilt a little :? i.e. one side tips up a mm or so but a little weight and it sits perfect

At least nothing is leaking seal wise (tap and thermometer) and it's holding steady @ 66c after 45mins.

worst case I guess I can run off into my picnic box tun and then into the boiler in the absence of a sparge bag.

15mins to go, fingers crossed

seem okish, a couple of bits of grain afetre the initial recirc, i'm hoping that won't harm the beer if they go into the boil?

race you!

Ended up with my boil volume, waiting for sample to cool. ended up my trust sieve on the outlet of the tun, only a bout a tablespoon of grain for 55L. Made sure it ran down the side so as to avoid too much aeriation

Dry Yeast starters started

You're a busy little munky!

I'm still boiling mine....collected 31.5 litres into the boiler.

But - I never cut the grass anymore. I've got one of these:

http://www.robot-magic.co.uk/acatalog/R ... Mower.html

And it's the bomb! I even got it for free. I've got about half an acre of lawn, and it used to take me about 6 hours every week to cut it, but now I never touch it. The robot comes out at 6pm every night, cuts the grass, then goes home to charge himself up and wait for the next day!

The future is shininess......and useful robots.

 I want one of those mowers. It takes me six hours to cut the grass also. I could brew 25liters of beer in six hours :envy:

Yep, I use a mower and it's a biggun. Gardens not that big, it's just a bit awkward and I don't cut it often enough. That robot thing is the db's though.

Phew,

Made it to the pub after collecting 47 litres @ 1046. Was aiming for for 44 litres @ 1049 so not so bad when considering I was using new equipment.

Now,

goat, sheep or robot for the lawn.

MMMmmmm goat curry!
