Today's been pretty busy.... but I've decanted the Stonewall Bitter into the KKTT and gassed it (never used the KK before) ...

Also, rashly, decided to make a Cider next, just for the experience and to have some variety. Went to Wilkinsons and ended up with a simple Youngs Cider kit. And a EDME Bitter kit.... I think I have to try as many different kits as possible, there was a Tom Caxton kit and various Geordie kits too.... all in good time!

I made the kit pretty much to the instuctions but..... and it's probably fatal ... I was short on glucose (884g's rather than the 1KG) so I added a 454g Jar of Honey. :?

The SG was still crap, 1036 :? :? so I put another 184g of caster sugar, dissolved in boiling water, in...... I did continue to make the kit up to 40pints.
There was a 32pint option that added 1.2kg sugar so I'm not too concerned.... if it's strong , heck it's cider, it's supposed to be strong!!!

Will get the EDME Bitter going next weekend I think......
I've now got the following ...
40 pints of Continental Pilsner conditioning - bottled 1 week
40 pints of Stonewall Bitter - conditioning - KK'd today
40 Pints of Cider - started today.

Sod all ready to drink now though

You won't be disappointed by the EDME bitter. Nice hoppy bitter, very tasty. I made mine up with glucose, tasted great.

It's just the name!!! Too much like ACME!!!

And the label is shite!!! I'm no designer, but that label is rubbish, as is the Georgie Bitter kits..... heh ho!!

I want to try all the kits as one may just prove to be just to my liking.....
So far the Muntons is the yard stick, but there are plenty more kits for me to try before I turn to the AG route  (which may never happen if the kits are fit for purpose  )

Does Cider froth the same as beer? Mine seems to be fizzing, bubbling away nicely, but just looks, er, like a pint of cider ..... no scummy froth at all.
