Brewed this today using Wheeler's recipe. I did a small batch as SWMBO isn't keen on bitters and we drink most of my brews between us. It takes me too long to finish a big batch on my own so this is about 11 liters. I did try caramelizing some of the first runnings to get a little extra color and flavor -- pulled about a liter and reduced it by 2/3rds. I missed my SG (too high) and my volume (too low) so I diluted with some spring water to bring it in at 1043.
I'm really looking forward to this one. Wish I had a beer engine setup so I could serve it properly.
On to the pics:

Got a good boil going:

Chiller and Goldings added to the kettle:

Flameout. A metric shedload of Styrians, per drsmurto's advice. Well, 28 gms, anyways:

Hydro jar. I think the color looks pretty good at this point.

Six hours later and it's showing signs of fermentation. Landlord on the left, a big American IPA on the right,

Looks killer. From the pics, you appear to have nailed the color. Did you use floor malted Golden Promise?

Color was just a lucky break as I wasn't really sure how long to let the reduction go. It was Simpsons Golden Promise, so I don't think it's floor malted.
