Up bright and early this morning as i`ve got a free day to brew today.
Mash started at 8am.
I`m doing a Fiddlers Elbow clone but i`ve adjusted the recipe slightly as i noticed that drinking one of my earlier clones of it
is not like the real stuff, the real one is slightly darker and a lot more hoppier so this is what i`m brewing.
3000g Maris Otter Pale Malt
400g of Wheat Malt
100g Crystal Malt
40g Styrian at 60mins
10g Styrian at 20mins
10g Styrian at 10mins
10g Styrian at 0mins
IBU 27.8 BU:GU Ratio 0.79
Target OG 23ltrs at 75% Eff 1035.29
Only going for a 60min boil as i`ve got to go out later and a 90min boil would make me late.
Its been planned to a very tight schedule, so fingers crossed all goes well.

The boil is now 20mins in, yeast pitched into a jug of wort about 40mins ago and FV sterilizing,
Just taking 5 before i go back to see how the boils going.
Re: Fiddlers Elbow Clone (ish)
The boil is over the wort is cooled and its now running off into the FV
Its slightly slow as my hop strainer as gone rusty so its just running through the hop bed
so going to have to wait for that now, guestimation about 15/20 mins as its not running too fast.
The yeast looks well in the jug of wort though, so it should be nicely upto speed once pitched.
Time for a cup of tea i think while i wait.

All done and dusted, even cleaned everything up, so 6.5hrs in total, but thats not too bad to say i`ve cleaned up and
mopped the kitchen floor, i always collect the first water from the IC into the mop bucket, and use it to clean up with,
such a green hobby
.
Slightly dissapointed with the OG as its reading SG1032 and it should have been SG1035
so not too far out but was hoping to hit it bang on or a little more.
Oh well as long as it tastes good i`m not really to bothered.Time will tell.
