Thought I would try and brew a basic lager for a change.

3.00 kg Lager Malt (2.0 SRM) Grain 71.4 %
0.50 kg Cara-Pils/Dextrine (2.0 SRM) Grain 11.9 %
0.40 kg Corn, Flaked (1.3 SRM) Grain 9.5 %
80.00 gm Saaz [2.20%] (90 min) Hops 21.2 IBU
13.00 gm Saaz [2.20%] (0 min) Hops -
20.00 gm Saaz [2.20%] (10 min) (Aroma Hop-Steep) Hops -
2 Pkgs SafLager West European Lager (DCL Yeast #SYeast-Lager

Mashed at 65 degrees C for 90mins, and boiled for just over 60mins.

Ended up being 1.040 so didnt add any sugar.

Not sure how this will turn out, but hey I gotta start somewhere!

To be honest, I'm not sure with boiler related stuff on them. I have the H&G elements, so they are spaced enough to get a yellow scourer around them which keeps them bright and clean. I have tesco elements in my HLT and cleaned them yesterday with a few teaspoons of citric acid in hot water. 10 minutes later they looked like new. 8) Might be worth a try?

Bottled this at 1.008. Been fermenting for around 2 weeks at about 12 degrees.

Tastes good!
