First Gold Ale - 19.02.09

Brewing this just now. Mash underway ;)

3.50 kg Pale Malt (2 Row) UK (3.0 SRM) Grain 77.8 %
0.50 kg Munich Malt (9.0 SRM) Grain 11.1 %
0.30 kg Corn, Flaked (1.3 SRM) Grain 6.7 %
0.20 kg Wheat, Torrified (1.7 SRM) Grain 4.4 %
18.00 gm First Gold [7.50%] (90 min) (First Wort) Hops 17.9 IBU
15.00 gm Challenger [7.10%] (90 min) (First Wort) Hops 14.1 IBU
15.00 gm First Gold [7.50%] (0 min) (Aroma Hop) Hops -
20.00 gm First Gold [7.50%] (10 min) (Aroma Hop) Hops -
1 Pkgs SafAle English Ale (DCL Yeast #S-04) Yeast-Ale

10.00 gm First Gold [7.50%] (Dry Hop3 days in FV)

Looking forward to this one, gonna be a bit different what with Munich malt too. ;)

Yes i know elements need a clean. ;)

Went well and ended up at 1046, which was a bit strong as I wanted a lower gravity beer so I diluted it a bit with water and brought it down to 1040.

Going to dry hop this with 10g of First Gold for 3 days after fermentation.

Looks fantastic. I see you've got yourself a couple of ASDA/Tesco elements. They're great. Adding another to my boiler this week too. One does the job but would be nice to speed things up. As for cleaning the buggers, citric acid is supposed to be amazing.

P.S, like the labels.

Looks a promising brew. I like the look of your hop strainer, did you make it yourself?
