I've been looking forward to making this one, I haven't brewed for 6 months, ... life gets in the way :|

Grain

5kg Pale Maris Otter
150g Chocolate Malt
500g Wheat Malt
500g Roasted Barley

60 min mash @ 68c

Hops

80g Northdown Hops (7.5) - 60 mins

300g Black Treacle - last 20 mins boil

1 Whirlfloc Tablet - last 15 mins boil

Yeast Safale S04

21 ltrs @ 1056

Had a good brewday today, only two mishaps #-o The first was mistaking the wheat malt for pale malt and chucking in the whole 500g's worth in (it should have been 220g) I'm not sure if this will do any damage. The second was not getting the 23ltrs @ 1056 planned. I don't think my brewhouse efficiency is very good, maybe someone can tell me what it worked out as. I batch sparge, and I'm not sure I've got the hang of it.
The big pluses where getting my mash ph sorted, 5.2 ish (big thanks to Graham and Chris), and the excellent converters on this site (http://jimsbeerkit.co.uk/calc.html) ... they work perfectly.
I planned to take some pics but alas I was not well organised, next time maybe

So far the smells from this brew have been awesome, ... really looking forward to this one.

Cheers
