Succesfully completed my 2nd AG brew yesterday, a Summer Lightning clone from GW's book...
With my home brewey's cricket based name, I am re-naming all the brews as cricket themes, so it will be Sunny (Gavaskar) Lightining :D

Went very well, and was also my first time "flying solo" without my trusty father in law as side kick and assistant brewer..

Recipe was :
19 litre batch
OG 1049
ABV 5.%

MARIS OTTER PALE MALT 4120
HOPS boil time 90 minutes
CHALLENGER 38g
Add 13ms Goldings last 15 minutes
Post boil hops – 8g Goldings

Again all went according to plan, except I had a very slow run off from boiler to FV after cooling, I think this may be due to not enough holes drilled in my home made hop strainer.. strange as the first AG I did came out perfectly...ah well nothing a drill won't fix :!:

It is so enjoyable making a brew with home made kit from the raw ingredients, I can't believe I didn't do this before... and thats before the tasting of any brews I have made!!! (ok perhaps a sneaky taste from the testing jar of the Hobgoblin clone... and its fab and thats without conditioning and any fizz!!!)
