Its summer soon ,,, so what to brew ,, i know , a nice dark porter, refressing for the long hot summer days ahead in northumberland...

Reason was to use up my last of my Northdowns,,, will post a few pics later, coming to the last 15mins for goldings and protafloc tablet,,,

No fancy hop stainers here!, 23 ltrs of boiling porter,, no cooler yet either


Only got 23 ltrs @1050 in the end recipe says 25Ltr @ 1055, any thoughts?

One possibility is that all those dark grains may have dragged the pH down below 5.2 and reduced your mash efficiency.
