Alright chaps,

First brewday in months tomorrow, looking forward to it. I've got some belgian biscuit malt which I don't think i've ever used. Will it be out of place in this recipe do you think ?

Just a pale/blonde ale with shedloads of Amarillo :D I'm looking for tongue-coating hops and a nice bitterness, might up the hops if the mood takes me

Yeast didn't turn up - gutted! Going to keep the wort in the fridge, maybe chill it down to 5C overnight. Hope to God it arrives tomorrow!

Don't apologise Dave, don't be ridiculous! Does seem like a waste of a first class stamp seeing as you sent it two days ago, though.

It was a good brewday overall, although I won't sleep easy with my wort sitting there yeastless. I had a policeman brewing with me who had brought some confiscated booze from some young drinkers in East Kilbride. 8 Cans of Carlsberg and a half bottle of bucky

When I first read the recipe I thought you were brewing Hop Fuel with the amount of Amarillo you were using, but on closer inspection the A.A. of yours is 4%. It must be me that has got some rocket fuelled ones, mine from H&G were marked at 9.8% A.A  and a bloody good jolt of flavour and aroma they give... :D

Yeah, these appear to be from a weak batch, however the aroma is intact. I ended up using 300g  of Amarillo in total. The rehydrated hops took up about a quarter of the kettle :D

Interesting formulation there, you should get a reasonably dry beer which I would guess will accentuate the hop character all the more. You will have to let us know how that works out once it is done. Just curious though, why use pils malt rather than using all MO and maybe dropping the biscuit malt a little? Hopefully the Amarillo hops will not cover up what hopefully will be a nice malt flavor in the beer, I will be interested to hear what your take on this one is. Amarillo is a great hop though, like Cascade on steriods.

This weekend will be my second brewday and my plan was to do a London Pride clone however I noticed that the supply of British hops was poor at the LHBS last time I was there. I did notice however that they did have Styrian Goldings so I my just make up a Stunner like formulation and go with that. Maybe MO plus a little biscuit malt I guess we will see what happens.

I was just using up the end of two sacks of malt, so just using up what was on hand. Biscuit malt... I bought a half kilo because i've never used it before... hopefully it will provide a bit of a malty boost to give support to the hops. Still waiting on the yeast arriving
