AG#2 - This is too much fun!

I did AG#2 on Saturday - only a week after brewing AG#1. This time I chose Thomas Hardy Country Bitter (Eldridge Pope) from GW's book. I wasn't bang on with the recipe as I was 100g short on Crystal, but it propably won't make too much of a difference.

Everything went like clockwork. My run off was almost completely clear - though slightly foggy on the second batch sparge. No accidents (mash tun manifold fell off in AG#1  ). I boiled outside from 10:30pm onwards and it was funny to see an army of slugs and snails making their way up the path towards the beer! [-X  My OG was 1044, so adjusted to 1042 and pitched White Labs WLP007 yeast (split) at 24C. 12 hours later the yeast was getting up to speed.

It worked much better for me doing two AG's in relatively quick succession. AG#1 was still fresh in my mind and I learned so much from that first attempt, but AG#2 went much better. I estimate that my efficiency is around the 80% region.
So now I'm already planning AG#3 and I'm running out of FVs! #-o

Tell me about the FV Merry go round, I've been practising that for the past month. Well done on your second AG brew and may there be many more to come (FV's Permitting) :D
