Well Currently mashing 8.2KG of grain for this brew!

Got up extra early (10am...), got a friend round to help hopefully should be a cracker.
My mash tun is filled to the brim, bloody close  As well as the malts the recipe called for, i added 120 grams of Crystal malt, give it a touch more sweetness.
As its a 10G brew, its going to be in two seperate 5G FV's.
I'm going to use S-04 in one, in the other, what do you think would be best? 05? Nottingham?

Some pictures to follow later. To keep you sated though, here's one:

Ended up having to do the sparging in about four batches due to mash tun space!
Although i ended up with 48 litres at 1042 (recipe called for 46 at 1038 although i did add about 300 grams of extra malt)

Went with S-04 in one FV and Nottingham in the other. Both are well underway now.
Didn't get too many pictures unfortunately, but better than none.

Spent Grain (A lot of!)

A precariously full boiler, the hot break almost annihilated my kitchen.

A good brew day all in all. Next one will hopefully be in a few weeks.

I was allowed to brew my last ( 2nd) one in the kitchen at home. it was only a 25 liter batch but the mrs was not happy when the hot break stared and filled the air with the smell of malt..... So i forgot to turn the vent on......

Still she tasted the wort post boil and forgave me....

So... my next question is what the hell do i brew next, cos i am on holiday for a month as from thrusady next, and for the last days i am on my own in the house...... It has to be done... no?

Benson i'd be very intrested in your comparisons regarding S04 & Nottingham, when the time is right of course :)
