Hi all, I am going to brew a Hop Back Brewery Entire Stout clone on Sunday morning as my AG No2. I have used the recipe below but have changed the challenger hops for Bodicea as I could not get Challenger hops. I thought I would try a completely different type of beer from my 1st brew (Gob Hoblin). Just cleaned all the FV’s and mashtun and got everything sorted for an early start in the morning. I will try and post some pics as the morning goes on, well thats AG No 2 all done and tucked up ready for the yeast explosion. My 2nd brewday went quite smoothly except for getting stuck on sparge 2  thats twice in a row now that the 2nd sparge has stuck  just gave it a quick stir and let it settle for a few minutes and I was back on track. Managed to get exactly 5 gallon from the boiler after the cooling the wort, had a problem getting the wort to cool down to 25 degrees tho !It was cooling for well over an hour with my IC and could still only get it down too 29 degrees  just ran it off into my FV and left it for a few hours before adding the yeast. I managed to shave 30 mins off my brewday compared to my 1st brewday =D> even though the cooling took longer than the 1st time. The wort came out at 1043 which aint bad as it was supposed to be 1042 =D>

@ Eric, No I aint drank all of AG No 1 yet ! Had to send it to my mothers in the Cornie to stop me drinking it all  need to keep some for a tasting session with the lads from work over a few games of pool 8)

Hey! Have you drank that first one already?
Good luck DC. A little too much chocolate malt for me but that's because of a personal preference for roasted barley in dark beers.
It's been arranged for me to wave a paintbrush all day. I know which aroma I'd prefer to generate.

Nice to see you settling into the AG brewing, This one was very tempting for me as as a brew because I had a pint in the Kingston Arms on my first Cambridge brewers meet, but changed my mind after tasting my first AG brew a few weeks later which was a Toasted Oatmeal Stout. Funny how your own beer changes your perceptions of the commercial competition. I hope this one of yours turns out to be better that the original. :D

Excellent DC. OK about your second sparge. I'm not so sure everyone is as honest as you. I still have problems with my run offs and sparging always takes longer than I allow. It's getting better but mine starts off fast and cloudy and shortly after it's clear, it's running too slowly. One day I'll crack it, hopefully.
OK about your first AG, don't let my wife hear that else I can see all mine ending at my mother's house.

Well done.

Eric.
