3000g pale malt
250g crystal malt
100g wheat malt
100g torrified wheat
15g chocolate malt
challanger 25g 60min
east kent golding 20g 15min
protofloc tablet 15min
Came up with this recipe for my regular pint and wanted just 4gallons to fit into me cornie so the first one was a bit of a lesson.i used in all about 7 gallons and after the 60min boil and chilled with my cfc i was left with ex 4 gallons :) .i checked the final gravity and it was 1042 but here comes my question  when i held up the sample tube to taste the sweet wort i noticed the cold break mixed in with it,this is my 6th AG now and never noticed before just fermented as normal but i have read about letting it sit for an hour to settle so i thought i'd give it a go  anyway i gave it 2hrs and syphoned of the really clear wort of the cold break and was left with 15ltr and 3ltr of sludge.is this common practise or is it safe to leave in the fermenter  maybe next time ill do 5gallons to allow for the wastage :o so have i done right :)

it would settle out in the FV as the yeast finishes :) my 2 AG brews so far seems to have been really cloudy straight from the boiler but on fermenting they have become beautifully clear :)

yeah... chill.
People who use CFC's to cool their wort before it hits the FV always get the Cold break material in the fermenter. I notice adm has recently used his CFC to recycle to the boiler while cooling so as to leave more of the cold break behind.
