A mad rush for beer...

Post by The Mighty Badger » Sun Aug 02, 2009 5:58 pm

After about 6 months off for various reasons, I suddenly remembered last night that I'd promised to make a batch to help lubricate an annual reunion holiday with our old Uni friends at the end of the month. Rush to dust off the kit, clear some space and get cracking. Started at 9:30; all done and dusted by 3:30. Here's to sitting on a beach in Dorset, in the rain, drinking my own beer... :D

This is also the first attempt to brew in my dedicated brewery (i.e. only partially fitted out outbuilding). The Fying Pig Brewery is best said to be at the end of the runway waiting for clearance

No name for the brew, but its a standard sort of summer bitter with only a touch of Crystal; bittered with Challenger and Goldings as a late hop. The only "try out" is knocking down the Starting Gravity to 1.030 to get a weakish afternoon sesh beer that can be drunk in three to four weeks. IBUs set to 35 or so.

Will post the recipe in that section if anyone wants it...
