Hop Stock & 2 Firkin Barrels

Post by haz66 » Sat Sep 12, 2009 11:29 am

Today i`m making a brew and trying to use up some stock before it goes off, hence the name.
Not sure how this monkey will taste though but i`m sure i`ll drink it whatever it tastes like :D

So into the mix today is.

4000g M0 Pale Malt
400g Wheat
200g Crystal
200g Flaked Barley

25g Target @ 60 mins
15g Progress @ 5 mins
15g Fuggle @ 5 mins
15g Boadicea @ 5 mins
15g Bobek @ 5 mins
20g Saaz @ 5 mins

Total IBU`s = 36 and OG should be around 1048

Need to get rid of some of the hops in the freezer so just seeing what happens.

Mash is almost over so better go get ready to sparge

Yeah just bunging in loads of old stock hops, plus i`ve now decided than putting some back in the freezer
i`m gonna chuck about another 70g of various hops in at 0 mins steep.
Hope it has lots of flavour, and that its a nice flavour :D

The name if you havn`t already worked it out is a play on one of my favourite films, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Its now 15 mins from end of boil so cant wait to bung all those hops in.
