Never tried a Scottish beer before - here goes!

1800g Pale Malt
1500g Munich Malt
120g Roasted Barley
85g Chocolate Malt
30g Challanger - 90 mins
20g Challanger - steep
Windsor yeast

26 IBU OG. 1036

Mash at 70C for 2 hours. 2 Hour boil, caramelise 4L of wort down to 2L

Liquor is in the boiler and grains weighed out. Will brew when I wake up tomorrow!

4L down to 2L...?
I took my 2L for my TTL clone down to maybe 100-200ml and it was like caramel, thick and syrup like

Did it give the beer a caramelised taste? I've only done it once before and cant recall it doing much. Thought I'd try a larger amount of wort. Bit of an experiement really!

I couldn't really say, I had a trial jar taste from the FV yesterday and I think it could have used more or darker Crystal malt... and I don't have an un-caramelised batch to make a comparrison with. The Landlord was tasting pretty close to the real thing though which I'm happy about.
