Could only find my dodgy thermometer, is always about 3/4C down. So I am mashing at what looks like 62C but it will be 65/66C.

Am a bit rushed today so I am doing a 60 min mash and boil. Hopefully my efficeny wont change much.

Looks like a good one - let me know how it turns out and I might give a brew myself. Really into APAs at the moment 8)

That was pre boil 24l @1054.

So I have chucked in 5g more Bravo at the start of the boil should bring the IBUs up to 40.

Maybe this will be one for a swap. My Centennial IPA is going to get some dry hops too, t'would be interesting to compare them

@ Mysterio. Sure that sounds good. This might be my least hoppy number. You can get a bottle of the 9.6% IIPA because I think its super stuff, taking a wee while to carbonate but its getting there.

My attempts to blow steam out of the window.

Ended up with 20L @ 1052, after watering down a bit. That puts my efficeny at 80%.

You may have over hopped. I never go over 40.152989845 EBU! :=P

Centennial works very well in this style; my pale ale made with 100% lager malt and about 90g of late centennial hops (all in at 5 minutes to go) worked really well. 8)

Tried a wee sample of this out of the fermenter and it is pretty bland atm.

Needs more hops.

Hmm that's odd. Even lightly hopped beers usually taste hoppy to me out of the FV as almost all of the hop flavour is still hanging around at that point. Possible cause . . . do you have a cold coming on perhaps? I can't imagine any hops being poor enough quality not to give any hop aroma really . . . :?

I think theres a certain desensitisation to hops that occurs over time :=P

Don't know why you would say that about me.

I think I am going to double the dry hopping rate to 40grams or so.

In other news the hydrometer is reading 1009, and there is still a massivly thick yeast head on the beer and there is plenty in suspension. Hopefully it wont dry out too much.

That US-05 yeast head usually sticks around until well after the ferment has finished until you chill it
