Well, I have the kitchen to myself today, so figued why not another brewday! Couldn't get down to the shop, so just had to use the stuff I had in - came up with this :

I reckon it's going to be a sort of Jennings Cumberland with a slight Caramel taste thanks to the Crystal. Has anyone done someting similar?

Ta,

Martin (Oh, PS.. Photos to follow!)

That should be nice.

I've found that although amber adds a nice taste and colour, it can take quite a long time to "settle down" and can be quite sharp tasting until then.

Thanks, adm....

In that case, I might leave it a bit longer in the Secondary.,, Think I might have hit a higher efficiency than expected as the finished OG was 1050! It's possible that it might finish higher that 1010 tho, as the mash temperature was around 70C - I guess we'll find out soon enough!

After Gervin Ale yeast for my last brew, and T58 before that, decided to play it safe and go back to S04.

Oops...

At 2:00 this morning and realised in my forgetfullness (or slightly pissed) had left the late boil hops in the fermenter (probably for 10 hours or so!) So went down the the garage and fished them out! The yeasy head had already started to form...

Have I wrecked my brew with 10 hours of post boil hops???

you never know, it might of been a good move! If it wasn't and you don't like it, I will quite happily help you 'dispose' of the beer!
