Brewed a porter earlier today.
Probably the smoothest brew day ever.
Hit my mash temperature within 1/2 degree F.
Aimed for 1.048 O.G. and hit 1.055
Beautiful brown color with nice ruby highlights.
I think I detect signs of fermentation after only two hours.
If brew day went this well every time I would brew every week:)

I wondered if anyone would catch that.
Three gallons
5 pounds maris otter pale malt
1 pound rauch malt
8 ounces wheat chocolate
8 ounces british brown malt
6 ounces carastan malt
4 ounces victory malt
1/4 ounce boadicea &
1/4 ounce horizon for 45 minutes (about 22 IBUs)
1/2 ounce goldings from my backyard for 15 minutes (about 5 IBUs)
WLP005 (quart starter)
mashed at 153.5 F for 45 minutes

I thought I would give chocolate wheat a go instead of regular chocolate and I put in the victory to use up the last of it before it has a chance to go stale.
