Lining up a double brew day with a mate who is coming over today. First up is an 80/-, recipe as follows:
3.45kg Maris Otter Pale
190g Munich
190g Carapils
370g Crystal (120EBC)
95g Dark Crystal (240EBC)
70g Pale Chocolate (550EBC)
35g Roast Barley
EKG 4.6% 38g 60min - 22IBU
Yeast will be S04 - was hoping to use WLP028 but not ready in time so will save that for later.
OG ~1044, 23L
Just warming the mash tun up now.

This was a really smooth brew - got 23L @ 1044 so bang on. The S04 is bubbling away nicely this morning.

Great stuff! Where's the pics?
Did you do the second brew or just the one in the end?

No time for pics - plus the second was a nightmare (have posted now) so didn't get the chance to do too many updates during the day!

Just racked - gravity 1013. Got one corny keg and 6 1/2 bottles (and a huge pile of sludge!). Very yummy already and dropping clear quickly - lovely sweet malt aroma, deep red colour and caramel and roasted flavours. Drink as soon as clear!

Have a good one - it's a great pint (I wouldn't put in any late hops, in case it's not too late, to not detract from the malty flavours
