hasty brew

I should have listened to the wife.
Kindly got some live brewers yeast from my local micro. Given the wife's retail committments today I decided I couldn't wait and hastily started a brew late yesterday afternoon.
First disaster was my mash tun stopper came off, so I had a blocked tap, so had to pour the contents out, fix then continue.
Secondly I must have knocked the boiler stopper off when putting the IC in. It was not a good day.
So emptied out, then back in again, goodness knows what my final run off contains now, I expect it is probably useless, however I have continued- the yeast is working well.

If nothing else I can skim some of the yeast head off tomorrow night, and I presume just need to store it in an airtight jar in the fridge until I need it next likely to be 3-4 weeks.

ah well IKea here we come

BT my last brew was exactly the same a yours my mash tun filter came off as well and i had to empty it and re fill messy job that, loads of other things went wrong but i persiveered nothing lost nothing gained i thought. As the fermentation came to an end the brew tasted great and after bottling i now have high hopes. So dont despere it may well turn out to be the best brew you have done :)

sterile but not sealed jar ;)
You wouldn' t want glass and yeast all over the fridge, bit of cling film over the top then loosely fit the lid :)

I will be using a kilna jar, so cling film the cover then just sit the lid on without sealing.
Is it likely to gush ?

Its just to be on the safe side, if its lively yeast it may continue to foam. :)
