CNC 2.8 is going to be a Hoppy low ABV, AmeriZealand Pale-ish Hopped with NS and 2 of the C's :)
Hemp Bitter is going to be a Goldings based bitter with 200g of ground hemp seed in the last 15mins of the boil :)
Couple of pictures from today's prep for tomorrows double Brewday and the Recipes, I'm probably not going to do much in the way of water treatment though might add an odd Tsp of Gypsum here and there :)

Hemp seed causes practically NO foaming when running off! Goodbye head retention:

Lots of pictures!! I got tempted by a big bag of Bobek in the freezer so added 1 small handfull every 5 mins in the last 20 mins of the boil (Might do an all Bobek IPA in the 'Dogfish head 60 minute IPA' style doing 2 good handfull every 5 minutes)
I also bottled last weekends Bramling XB around the end of boil/ cooling/running off.

1 degree low on my first mash, not going to fuss, might add a kettle of boiling water half way through.
Used my stock pot boiler to heat the first mash liquor, hlt got my mash liquor to temp in no time, going to use this on my next mash. :-)

Cheers guys. Hopefully the hemp seed will give a good flavour, though its very oily stuff so I'm not sure if it will promote or kill any head retention.
About half an hour into first boil and second wort sparged and waiting.

interested in the hemp idea.
what gave you the idea of adding that.

I think I've heard of that in a commercial brew, but cant think which one?

is the 60min boil your norm?
thinking of trying that out myself.

Yep 60min boil is my usual.
The commercial hemp ale is from Little Valley Brewery, and probably some others, that is where the idea came from and Hemp seed has lots of good stuff in it. :)

Just about to Pitch the yeast (Change of mind, US-05) to the first FV then have a quick copper clean and get the next one in the boiler.

All done...
The Hemp seed makes a mess when you throw that in.

You guys probably don't get (or care about) news from the states but the crazies in California are seriously talking about legalizing pot. If that ever goes through, I suspect it won't be long before we start seeing some interesting spices added to beers. Anybody for a cannibus saison?
