John Porter

Post by floydmeddler » Mon May 10, 2010 7:16 pm

I brewed this at the end of March and it is absolutely fantastic so I've decided to stick the recipe on here. I named it after a fellow back home who used to fix TVs, radios, videos, CB radios etc. in a little shed in his back yard. Genius of a man. Could fix anything.

Moderate roastiness coupled with pleasant floral hoppiness. The Molasses sugar gives it a lovely sweet finish and the Torrified allows for a cracking foamy head that leaves plenty of lacing. Everyone who has tried it really likes it.

I bottled 23L with 47g of sugar. Works out at 1.4 volumes of co2. Perfectly carbonated; not fizzy - just enough to create that head and as close to a cask ale I can manage in a bottle! :D
