Was weighing everything out and saw the rye malt, thought it might add something.
1.5-2L ish starter of WLP-001. |Yeast cake is going to get used for my big angry Tomahawk IIPA.
Getting up early to do this, should be mashed in before 7.

Re: Shades of Green Hoppy Stout.
Personally, I think the hopping is going to be nice and compliment and blend with the dark malts
Those last 0mins are Dry hops yeah?

Re: Shades of Green Hoppy Stout.

Grains with water treatment

Grains and water treatment all mixed up

Mashed in.

Mash temp spot on.

Starter which was sitting for about 8 hours before hand. Good sediment. Just pitched the whole lot in.

Recirculating the mash

Hoppy goodness with some gypsum and protofloc.

Boiler filling up with FWH.

Hot break

Spent grain. I think the carafa migrated to the top for some reason.

Horrible gunk and trub after the boil. More than normal so my kettle loses were a 700-1000mls more than normal.
Ended up with 19.5L @1052.

Yeah pdtnc. The last lot are dry hops. I shall just fix it.

Fermenting away happily. Has the biggest yeast head of all time on it for a 1050 og. Is pretty dramatic. Will post a pic later.
