Re: Return to brewing
Finished and cleaned up, easy brewday with nothing exciting happening. Cant wait to get this kegged and dry hopped!

Re: Return to brewing
Looks like you should have a nice strong hoppy bitter there, DD. Hope it turns out a good un.
Re: Return to brewing
Cheers jim, Fermenting this one in the garage where its a little cold - 13C during the night, so gonna be a long slow, but hopefull nice and clean ferment.
Re: Return to brewing
Nah, had to use Nottingham, hope it will be able to handle such low temps.
This was mostly just a trial run to sort out how viable the place im brewing at, was. Felt good to be back into the swing of things.

Re: Return to brewing
24 since pitching and there still isnt a full head of yeast. Its probably nothing to worry about, but I get so paranoid!
Re: Return to brewing
Kegged this today, had a couple of days where it got really warm, but thankfully it hasnt affected the beer, fined with gelatine, gonna add the dry hops when its cleared up, probably gonna have some hop haze now though. I can live with that though. It finished at 1010 and has a lovely hop flavour and aroma.
I was a little worried about gelatining after the dry hops as i've read that gelatine can strip out a lot of hop flavour? anybody noticed this or is it just one of those homebrew myths

Re: Return to brewing
I think it definitely pulls out bitterness, not sure about aroma and flavour though.
