Good afternoon me old fruits, i brewed this up yesterday, its for the winter ( thanks to the lads that helped out in the recipe section :wink: )

everything went sweet as a nut! i was well ahead of time, started at 6, was wrapped up for 11, the end of the brewday pic are missing ,
Naffolddog payed me a vistit to pick up some grain ( nice chap ) and i completely forgot to take anymore snaps... #-o

here we go...

Pale Malt 5 EBC 4000 grams 63.5%
Mild Ale Malt 6 EBC 1000 grams 15.9%
Munich Malt 20 EBC 500 grams 7.9%
Chocolate Malt 1050 EBC 100 grams 1.6%
black treacle 300 grams 4.8% (turns out i only had 220 gms of this and had to bulk it out with golden syrup )
Flaked Barley 0 EBC 300 grams 4.8%
Amber Malt 60 EBC 100 grams 1.6%

and that ladys and gentlemen is where our journy ends, didnt take any more from this point,

i dont know yet how much i ended up with seen as ive scrubbed the markers off my FV been meaning to redo them for a couple of weeks now,

the OG was 1.062 so a little higher then expected,

go on then one more, woke up to this this morning ..bubbling like a trooper....

Cheers lads, yeah I'm thinking I should have made this my Xmas ale and put some spice in it, but never mind, hoping it will turn out good!

Got home this afternoon and it's trying to clime out :shock:

That's a neat looking little pump you are using to recirculate your wort. Could you post some details on it, please?

Finaly got round to bottling this up.

OG was 1.014, slightly higher then I'd hoped, making it 6.2% but it's got good body to it, tastes really nice, better then expected,a little yeasty but the black treacle has gave it a lovely flavour,looking forward to when it's ready.

I've been meaning to do a Treacle stout for a while, Just never get round to it... sounds good :)

yeah treacle seems to work realy well in beers, from what ive seen anyway,

all bottled up now, ready to go in the cellar tomorrow, couple of samples from the FV tasted brill, happy with it so far!

This beer has turned out boss!

Very Old Peculier/Old Tom esc, the black treacle gives it a nice deep flaver and you can just taste the roasted flavour from the chocolate malt, slightly warming from the 6.2% abv

I'm happy with this one \:D/
