Got this in the mash tun at the moment.
Hoping its going to be ready for New Years Eve - Shes birthday on 1st Jan!!

Yeast - Fermentis S-04 SafAle English Ale

Mash temp was spot on at 66 and i remembered the DLS this time so hoping to get the planned extraction and hit the OG.

Some a bit like a Blackcurrent and Liquorice sweet?
Sounds tasty, don't skimp on the Late Bramling X hops :)

Fermentation going great - only a 2 hour lag time from pitching to the first "blop, blop" through the air lock.

No issues with the brew day but could have added more late Bramling X.
Hoping the flavours will develop in the corny/bottle.

Fermentation completed and down to 1.011 giving this a healthy 5.5%

Very little hop aroma though, so one cornie has been dry hopped with another 50gr of Bramling X.
Be interesting to see how the two compare.

I'd be interested to see how much of a liquorice taste you get from your brew, I brewed last weekend putting 30g of hard liquorice into the boil for 30 mins, similar to THESE. I plan to keg/bottle during the coming week but at the moment there is very little if any liquorice flavour.

Sometimes better to add flavours post fermentation...
I've gotta like the idea of the 50g Bram X Dry hops ;)
