Czech Saaz 3.4 % 35 g 5.3 Loose Whole Hops 15 Min From End

Yeast
White Labs WLP029-German Ale/Kolsch

A bit of a late start as I've only just got the mash on. This was mainly due to being on call at work last night and not getting to bed until 04:15 this AM!
any way the tiredness has resulted in me missing my mash temp as I forgot to pre heat the mash tun! I've just been fannying about with boiling water and managed to get it up to 62.6oC.....and that's where it's staying!

More to follow! :D

Hi LB!

Looks good! If a broken thermometer is your only brewday disaster then the beer should be good...

I plan to make a kolsch once I've a few more pale AG brews under my belt :)

Cheers!

Cheers lads! Man it's been a long day! It was interspersed with viewing houses! Just transferring to the FV now and going to pitch the yeast. All in all it's only taken 55 hours! It was the bits in between that have drawn the day out!

This bottle of 5am saint is making it better though! :D

Well all put away at 20oC! What a long day!

Ended up with 23.5L @ 1.055 so that should give me 5.6%ABV if it attenuates out! Bit high for a stout but hey ho!

Manages a couple of iphone pics at the end!

Excellent. Must try a Kolsch myself one day.

Looks like you transcended all the hardships and got the brew done regardless. As they say.....beer WANTS to be brewed!

This is two rooms away down the hall in the spare room and it is fermenting that loudly and vigerously it just woke me up! :D
