I have just had a sample of my Citra brew, it has been in the fv for a week. Gravity is down to 1018, it is pure fruit salad, grapefruit and passion fruit, I could smell it as soon as I opened the fridge door! Looking good this one I will be really interested how the flavour develops on this one.

well according to BeerAlchemy I managed a mash efficiency of 93.9% by using the little pump t recirculate the mash! It's currently recirculation the wort as it cools to form a whirlpool for the IC! :D

Have you got a mesh hop stopper? cos if not I'd definitely suggest adding some leaf in there as well! I've had a load of break material come through the filter, so I'm leaving the wort to stand in the FV over night, then tomorrow morning I'm gonna syphon it into another FV and then pitch the S-05! :D

I played rugby for the 1st time in almost a year yesterday and realised how out of shape I am! I usually play either Hooker, flanker or at a push Prop, and I got floored by a centre  ! Things had to change, so off to the pain room today! :D :D

Sounds like a great beer. Pellets can be a bastard though...you either need a hopstopper with big holes to let the crud through into the FV (then not worry about it), or a fine mesh to keep it out (but I always worry about blockage with those). I think your "let it sit in the the FV then decant" is probably the best approach.

On the rugby, I used to play hooker myself. For the pain room today, I did 40 pretty hilly miles on my shiny new road bike. Feck me. My arse is still sore.

whats your take?

ey up mate, didnt see this sorry1 I would think that citra are maybee a bit strong for lager! saying that I like quite nobel hops in my lagers! I'd say give it a go and let us know how you get on!

I've found the citra hops to have a great tropical fruit flavour and aroma! I racked this one into secondary this am and added an oZ of citra dry hops! :D I'm going to leave it a week, gas it in a corni and then bottle as I need the corni space for the mild thats ready to keg and the Steam beer that is cold conditioning is about ready as well! Really need to get more kegs! :D
