It's been a while since I documented a brewday here so I got out the camera yesterday to capture the creation of a Broadside-ish clone. I'll post the recipe from home when I remember!

Water treatment - Since following GWs great calculator to the letter my beers have come on no-end and have dropped amazingly clear with no auxiliary finings. New scales weigh to 0.01g, 6 quid form Hong Kong, bargain!

Water additions mixed together before adding to water for the brew.

Adding grians.

Douging-in.

Mash tun put to bed for an hour.

First runnings.

Highly sophisticated anti-condensation device :D

Chilling.

Yeast harvested from a brew I did for a mate's crimbo pressie along with some wort I drew off for making yeast starters.

Running off.

Pitching the yeast slurry.

FLITH  :D

Hydro sample a little on the high side, was aiming for 1.052.

Put to bed in the office, I can't see the point in heating the fridge in the shed at the moment so the rad comes on for a few hours a day keeping at a steady-ish 20'C with a sleeping bag just in case it gets a little cooler.

And i woke up this morning to be greeted by this happy sight!

A smooth, disaster free brew day was had then it was time to cook a nice roast beef for Sunday dinner before kegging my second attempt at a lager. Afterwards settling down to a few chapters of Pete Brown's Hops and Glory I got for Xmas. Top Sunday

Cheers,
Jamie
