Mashing this at the mo. Based on the "Epic Pale Ale" clone from CYBI. I've never tried the beer but I made the recipe a few months back and it was good.

2010 Cascade are smelling great... a return to form!

Amounts tweaked a little so I don't have to open more than 4 packs of Cascade

Can You Brew It

http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com/shows/714

Highly recommended, in fact The Sunday Show is good to, 3-4 hours of beer talk. They are all downloadable.

Hi Rob, I saw some pellets briefly on your shop this morning now they're gone again, you're teasing me here

Flytact, yeah it's a good podcast, they clone commercial beers, mainly US ones. This is a NZ beer which I haven't tried but I'm always looking for an excuse to throw loads of Cascade in a beer

Yeast is WLP001

Yep, I have them but only Simcoe packed, rest will be packed over the weekend so they will be available to order after 2 today.

Cheers

Hop packing has long since been outsourced, Dad does it!!

I am having a double brew Sunday as my 2 new 60 litre fermenters have just turned up, chuffed!

Thanks. I have heard of CYBI, just couldn't figure out the acronym.
Epic was featured on one of the Brewmasters shows on Discovery Channel in the US. Dogfish did a collaboration brew with them and then went down to NZ. To taste it.

What are you brewing on Sunday Rob ?

I saw that episode, flytact. Enjoyable series, I wonder when it's back on.

10 gallons in the fermenter, 18C and yeast pitched. Quite pleased I managed to get the full 10! I will let this ferment for a week - 10 days before throwing in the dry hops.

I have planned a smoked porter and a stupidly hopped Yankie IPA

Having spot of bother with beer engine at the moment though so am unable to finish the recipes. Am going for 35% rauch in the porter, should be enough??

Looks gorgeous, I've been meaning to make something similar very soon. Be sure to squirrel some away to age a bit, all those hops will really benefit from it imho.

Yes, last time I brewed it I sank a full keg before it had matured properly, took a good 3 - 4 weeks for it to round out

That said, the smell from the FV is awesome. Got some pellets to dry hop.
