I think the hops sound good. Citra have a great flavour but not enough punch for an IPA. So I think Centennial will be a good counterbalance. Surprised you're not throwing in some Simcoe too

I don't have any or I would be,.

I think I am going to brew some Simcoe/Centennial Imperial IPAs so as they will be ready by about June, for the start of that beer week.

All done now ?

I'm going to get a couple of IIPAs on for June too. You still up for the beer demo? I posted a thread up on the Glasgow Beer Week forum to try and get some ideas for it.

Just signed up to the group man, it sounds good. What are you thinking?

Just tried my first bottle of this, just after it has carbonated.

It is very very good. I would reitterate what others on the forum have said about Citra the flavour profile is a lot more delicate than some of the other big American hops. I get a lot of Lime from these hops, the beer smells a bit like a key-lime pie. The Centennial add a nice grapefruit like quality to it. Nice balanced bitterness.

This beer fermented down to 1012, so it ended up about 6.5% abv.

Only thing wrong with this beer, human error. Too much sediment in the bottom of the bottle one of my first times siphoning.

The combination of hops is fantastic.

O

Nice one. Interesting you get lime, I get a heavy lime zest aroma from the rub of the hops but not much in the beer. Everyone is perceiving something slightly different.

Yeah it is a great hop. I think it would go well in a summer pale ale type thing too.
