Brewday 03.04.07 Quafferish

Post by subsub » Tue Apr 03, 2007 8:21 pm

Wifey has taken the dogs and the kids out for the day and it's my day off, so I decided to brew the recipe for Quaffer by Guildofevil with only the cat, rabbit and my Banshees albums for company :D

Recipe as follows:

3.2 kg Bulldog Light Malt Extract
394 g Maris Otter
498 g Crystal Malt

85 g First Gold 8.2%AA

Boil time 60min

30 g @ 60min
30 g @ 15min
15 g @ 5 min
10 g @ 0 min

Safale 04

OG 1020

Collected just under 22 litres and couldn't be bothered to top up to 23.

Maris Otter left over from a previous brew.

Many thanks to Guildofevil for the recipe. I don't think I'll be dry hopping though, the sample I tasted was cracking! Better clear up now, she'll be back soon 8-[

Yes Daab, I didn't have any other use for it as I have a 25kg sack of the stuff coming on Thursday. The only reason I used extract at all was that we have recently moved house and I found the tins in a box with my Banshees and Sisters vinyl

... the ciggy looks nice too... must... resist...

I think you may have mistyped the OG though - 1020 sounds rather low (unless you measured the OG when it was a lot hotter than 20 C)

Think so to BD, but I'm not that bothered anyway. It was just put together really quickly and will be drunk in the same way :D
