Simple recipe, just a little toffee caramel from the Dark Crystal.

Did you brew it?

Hi,

Looks good - when will you/ have you brewed it?
How did it go?
I'm planning a summer ale for tomorrow - see post here viewtopic.php?f=24&t=40829
What yeast are you planning on using?
I've departed from my trusty Nottingham and will be using White Labs 023 'Burton ale' yeast for the first time...

Cheers!

hey chaps, i was going to brew this yesterday but realised i hadnt got enough spare empty bottles. So i've put it on the back burner until i've got a full set of 40 bottle available, should be brewing it in a week or 2 :).

Planning on using standard nottingham :).

Hi, shame you ad to delay your brew day but at least you noticed the lack of bottles prior to mashing!

Nottingham is a good choice for pale ale, always worked well for me!
:)
I just fancied a change and I've heard good things about the WL Burton strain....
:)
I did my pale ale and it pretty much went to plan:)

Cheers!

Hey chaps, just started brewing this one this morning and just finishing off the 1st batch sparge. No stick mask which is nice!

So far I've found a full sized brew (23lt) to be a bit simpler than my half sized ones, I've not had to be so careful making sure the boiler element is submerged and such. 2nd batch sparge just coming to an end. it took longer than I expected to take all the 1st runnings. Got that lot in the boiler with the heat on again and intending on topping it up with second runnings soon.

Just took a gravity reading, it's 1.040 @ 29.4C :) almost bob on, pretty pleased with that cos I was 270g short on pale malt.
