Re-entering the fold
Re-entering the fold
Just about to go and start my first brews in about 3 years or so (way too long, I know).
1 - Brewbuddy cider (for when the wife's able to drink again after giving birth in the summer).
2 - Woodforde's Wherry
Wish me luck, I'm going in....

Re: Re-entering the fold
Had a look this morning and they've both started fermenting. Not a huge amount of bubbles yet but they've been on less than 24 hours so I wouldn't expect them to be going mental this soon.
Definitely looks like they're off to a good enough start.

Re: Re-entering the fold
Well, this morning's update is that the Wherry's lifting the lid of the fermenting bin, and the top of the cider is almost covered with bubbles, so it's all looking good, and smelling even better!

Re: Re-entering the fold
Well, here's today's update.
The cider's now fermenting like a good 'un after a slightly slower start - smells fantastic too, shame it's for SWMBO
The Wherry seems to be slowing down a bit from yesterday's peak (as in trying to push the lid off!). Won't be surprised if I can get it into the barrel this weekend or shortly after.

Re: Re-entering the fold
Surprisingly, neither the Wherry or the cider has quite finished fermenting yet. Looking at getting them into barrels sometime over the next week now.
They're smelling bloody lovely though...
