4 more weeks untill my next x-ray, maybe then I can get back to work.
Had work lined up for tomorrow but I been told not to, so I'll get a brew on to cheer me up!

This is what I'm thinking.
I'm not going to put any wheat in there, allways do, so just to see  or maybe some will fall in last minute

4 more weeks summer ale

Pale Malt 5 EBC 4000 grams 87.9%
Caramalt 30 EBC 200 grams 4.4%
Crystal Malt 130 EBC 100 grams 2.2%
Sugar,light muscavado 0 EBC 250 grams 5.5%

Challenger Whole 6.8 % 60 mins 40 grams 57.1%
Styrian Goldings Whole 4.5 % 20 mins 20 grams 28.6%
Styrian Goldings Whole 4.5 % 0 mins 10 grams 14.3%

Final Volume: 23 Litres
Original Gravity: 1.046
Final Gravity: 1.009
Alcohol Content: 4.8% ABV
Total Liquor: 32.6 Litres
Mash Liquor: 10.8 Litres
Mash Efficiency: 75 %
Bitterness: 34 EBU
Colour: 13 EBC

Yeast wlp005, some slurry I got from a friend

Got on well with a small sugar addition in my last pale ale, I like them light/dry.
Going to mash in at 64c as well for same reason as above.
I didnt have a colour for light muscavado but it wont add a lot of colour anyway.
Tempted to add some lemon zest, but prolly wont as I've not used stryian before and want to get just the hop.
Total liquor boiled and cooling overnight, grains weighed out, hope to have the mash on before I take the kids to school

Just getting tis one to bed now and then I'll pick up the youngert lad from school.
This is a great way to brew :)
Got a big pot of Minestrone made for dinner tonight as well, good morning.
Made a few changes to the recipe.

Looked at my stock in the shed, so I made it a little weaker and longer brewlength.
To try and turn it around faster
27L @ 1043, efficency is starting to improve a little too.
Lovley golden colour
Ended up pitching Notty slurry, when I looked at the WLP005 Slurry I reckoned I need to build it up a starter, next brew!

If you like it dry try not to use the WLP005 yeast, with an OG of 1046 your going to be at an FG of 1013 at best situation.

It floculates like mad and could do with with being roused a lot.

But i see you went notts in the end, what was the FG with that yeast.

I'm about to do a summer ale so i may well give this one a go.

FG 1006/7, I mashed low 64C and the bit of sugar and notts seemed to do the job nicely.

Yeah I'm using that wlp005 in a stout at the minute and it a little work with it all right!
