alright fellas, I managed to takea couple of pics of a recent brewday and thought I would share.

this is my current process, i am already thinking of changing it, its just some ideas to share as seeing others photos really helped me at the start, and i keep looking for others as i want to get better.

grain weighed out the night before.

Image

water in the pan and up to stike temprature, havent include a picture of a thermometer pressume you ve seen what they look like.

Image

grain in

Image

after its had a good old stir.

Image

a couple of towels, a sleeping bag, and old throw, - the abominable mashing monster

Image

after 90 minutes pull it out

Image

into a bucket to sparge

Image

spent grain

Image

boil on

Image

three hop additions

Image

lazy version of no chill. tea towel soaked in sanitize solution.clipped round the top, left to cool overnight.

Image

next day, siphon to fv

Image

start of what i think i need to work on- nice and clear into the fv

Image

but loads of blurgh in the pan .

Image

brewed on 14.3.11 in fv on the 15th, OG - 1048 wanted 1052, got down to 1012 . Bottled 21.3.11

6.4.11 looking pretty good

Image

i cant pour for toffee,

Image

try to show a bit of clarity.

Very happy with the results. the area i think i need to work on is the amount of water and the amount into the fermentor. i have been over doing the water and undershooting the target og's but get nice and clear leaving the blurgh in the pan. I thinking of a bit less water , (as the recipes suggest )and using a pan scourer over the end of the siphon to get more of the liquid at the bottom or trying straining through a increasingly fine sieves, (colander, sieve, voile) might experiment wiht both.

Well done. I love BIAB. I cannot see myself going to 3V for a while yet, if ever. I cocked up my first (catalogued elsewhere) but it's been very straightforward since then.

As far as the amount of liquor used, I take it that you have looked here - http://www.biabrewer.info/viewforum.php ... 9d89416622

I do full size BIAB, so I use the "calculator" on that site. I haven't really looked at the Mini/Maxi-BIAB section but I am sure there is a calculator (or help at least) there. (sorry if that seems like telling you how to suck eggs  )

Nice pics! BIAB really is as simple as you make it look there.

Like Beer O'Clock I also use the full volume method and find it a great system. The calculator on the biabbrewer site is very useful.

Keep flying that BIAB flag!
