In light of the royal wedding that is upon us , and to provide a little refreshment for the street party I'm having a go at my first recipe wot I made up from thin air instead of copying from a book.

Brewlength 25L
the Grist : 3500g MO (all i had left...)
250g crystal
50g choc
water gets the campden and CRS 2 step shuffle

going with a 90min mash (need all the sugars I can get !) aiming for and getting 67deg using the strike calculator

currently sitting all wrapped up.

Hops are going to be 90min 50g Challenger followed by a 10 min 50g Cascade

1L starter of Nottingham

No cooling yet but I have managed to fit a hop filter to the copper and its been arranged for maximum ergonomical brewing.

Nottingham yeast failed to get going despite being handled as per the packet but this yeast hadnot been cold stored..this is the result.

Fallback on the SO4, 25L bubbling away in the brewshed now.

This was at 1020 yesterday morning - clearly the garage is a bit colder than SO4 likes but lovely flavours all the same.

A Royalist eh...
Drinking the beer will be better than watching the wedding :)

Not sure celebrating it makes you a Royalist. It just means you are not a miserable git...

I'll be drinking virtual beers at work. I'm virtually a miserable git.
