I did my first Extract brew yesterday and managed to take a few pics along the way, so please tell me if ive made any mistakes.
I picked what looked like a fairly simple recipe and it looks ok in the fermenter this morning yeast is going away like nobodys business.
Recipe
2.2Kg Light DME
340g Crystal Malt Steeped for 30 mins
22g EKG + 13g Fuggles 60 mins
7g EKG + 6.5g Fuggles 30mins
14g EKG + Profloc tablet 15 mins
14g EKG Steeped for 15 mins.

Heated up 4L of water to 65C to steep the grain for 30mins in a grain bag..
It actually reached 70C but cooled to 65 over the course of the 30 mins.

Emptyed the grain steeped water into the boiler then streched the sack over the boiler and topped up through the grains until it ran clear.

Some minor surgery to the cooker to get the boiler on.

Mixed in the DME as the water heated up it did clump up a little bit

As soon as i got a rolling boil in with the first hops and water additions. followed by the rest of the hops at the appropriate times.

My imersion chiller was hardley covered in the boiler so i drained into the FV then added the steralised chiller and topped up with water.

Chilled to about 21 C and pitched rehydrated S-04
Out of the 24L i used i ended up with about 17 in the FV the hop strainer could do with a bit of work as there was a little toom much left in the bottom of the boiler.
