Hi Gary - Just seen this, looks like an interesting take on ginger beer - is it ready yet? If so how does is it taste?

The GB is in a few 3ltr PET's at 40 PSI and its a very nice brew, the yeast has done it proud, and the Ginger kick is just about right for my taste ( nice burn), the Corriander seed did not lend enough so next x2 the amount, the sweetness was boosted by an extra 100gms of sugar ,defo going to do another GB soon.

Will give something like this a go this week I think. Where did you get Ridley's yeast? Would love to use it for an Old Bob clone.

Floyd, if your after the Ridleys strain it might be worth giving Brewlabs a phone. I believe they are good at supplying most yeast strains.

he says whilst drinking the very last 3ltr bottle of the ( FIRE-SMIFF ) man its a great summer drink if we get one.

I am sure it will hit the spot mine is on FIRE right now and cant wait to brew up another.
NB: I did have to add a tad more sugar after market but its super fab, love the wheat beer look of it the head is great and the % is just right for a few pints of fun drinking.

I scored some cheap ginger from a car boot and had a go at this yesterday , threw in some choc malt with the wheat, currently being assaulted by crack SO4 yeasties . once the ferment is rocking away I'll drop out all the lumps and tuck it away for a fast-ish fermentation. The coriander seeds gave off a wonderful aroma whilst crushing them, thanks for the recipe.

I think I'll give something like this a go at some point, what did the Crystal malt do for it?
